Nintendo has delivered another treat for longtime fans and music lovers by adding the classic Mario Kart 64 soundtrack to its Nintendo Music mobile app.
This weekly update strengthens the curated lineup available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, providing direct access to some of the most memorable video game themes in Nintendo history.
Originally released on the Nintendo 64 in 1996 in Japan and internationally in 1997, Mario Kart 64 was the second entry in the beloved racing series and quickly established itself as a multiplayer staple.
Its soundtrack—composed by Kenta Nagata—features a blend of energetic and whimsical tunes that have remained fan favorites for over two decades.
Many of these tracks, including "Luigi Raceway," "Kalimari Desert," and the renowned "Rainbow Road," have become synonymous with the franchise and are frequently remixed or referenced in later Mario Kart titles.
The newly added album on the Nintendo Music app features 32 tracks, totaling a runtime of 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Subscribers can listen to every song from the game, from the upbeat “Starting Grid” themes to the triumphant “Awards Ceremony” music and the credits sequence.
The full list includes:
- Luigi Raceway
- Moo Moo Farm
- Koopa Troopa Beach
- Kalimari Desert
- Toad's Turnpike
- Frappe Snowland
- Choco Mountain
- Mario Raceway
- Wario Stadium

- And various results, award, and menu themes
Accessing the Mario Kart 64 soundtrack via the Nintendo Music app requires an active Switch Online subscription and a compatible mobile device.
This addition complements a growing catalog of Mario Kart music albums on the service, such as soundtracks from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and the original Super Mario Kart.
Reflecting Nintendo’s commitment to both nostalgia and value, Mario Kart 64’s full game is also available through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier.
This allows users to revisit the groundbreaking racer on modern hardware, while the soundtrack update adds further incentive for fans to explore and enjoy the series’ musical legacy.
As Nintendo continues to update and expand the offerings of both its Switch Online service and the companion Nintendo Music app, fans of Mario Kart and classic game music now have more reasons than ever to tune in and relive some of gaming’s most iconic moments.
