Description

Analogue 3D, the highly anticipated FPGA-based Nintendo 64 clone from Analogue, has faced another setback, with the company's official channels confirming the shipping window has moved to Q4 2025.

This delay marks the latest in a series of pushed back release dates, extending the wait for retro game enthusiasts who pre-ordered the device as far back as October 2024. Originally slated for a Q1 2025 launch, Analogue 3D's release was first rescheduled for July 2025, then late August, before now settling on a conservative Q4 timeframe.

The dynamic has frustrated backers, especially after recent reports emerged accusing Analogue of poor communication by informing some customers, as late as this month, that their consoles would be shipping soon—contradicting the company's public statements just days later.

This inconsistency in communication was highlighted by sources such as Retro Dodo, further fueling concerns amongst the dedicated fanbase. In their latest official update, Analogue acknowledged the ongoing frustration, stating, "We have been moving at maximum pace to process shipments for all who have been patiently waiting.

Rare and unexpected issues occasionally arise, but we are committed to ensuring every detail meets our quality standards." The company underscored its relentless focus on the final stages of development, noting, "Analogue 3D has been in obsessive development for four years.

With hardware, system, and packaging complete, we are now perfecting the remaining one percent." Analogue cited the new shipping window to Q4 2025 as a deliberate and conservative estimate, aiming to avoid further disappointment.

"We appreciate everyone’s patience and trust.

Analogue will always deliver—delays or not, our commitment to quality remains steadfast," the statement concluded. Complicating the timeline further, unexpected external factors such as sudden tariff changes forced Analogue to absorb additional costs, keeping pre-order prices unchanged for customers.

In a separate communication regarding the delay to late August, the company said, "Following recent tariff changes, Analogue 3D will begin shipping next month.

We’re absorbing the costs—your preorder price stays the same." Despite repeated delays, Analogue continues to update customers on related products.

The company recently announced that the Analogue Pocket White is back in stock, alongside the releases of PocketOS v2.5 and DuoOS v1.5 firmware updates for existing users. For pre-order customers concerned about the shifting release date, Analogue assures that no action is required to maintain their order.

The company upholds a no-questions-asked, 100% refund policy for those wishing to cancel.

However, the absence of any public demonstration footage of the Analogue 3D in action remains a sticking point for some, who cite the lack of transparency as a concern so close to the stipulated release window. As the retro gaming community continues to watch closely, all eyes remain on Analogue to deliver on its longstanding promise of a high-fidelity, FPGA-powered Nintendo 64 experience.

For the latest information regarding the Analogue 3D release date, updates, and support, customers are encouraged to monitor Analogue’s social media channels, as well as official site FAQs.
