Sega Europe Relocates Headquarters After Twenty Years in Brentford After more than two decades at its iconic Brentford location, Sega Europe has announced the relocation of its headquarters to Chiswick Business Park, marking the end of an era for the UK arm of the global video game leader. Since 2004, Sega Europe’s office at 27 Great West Road in Brentford has been a memorable landmark for commuters and gaming fans alike, with the instantly recognizable image of Sonic the Hedgehog overlooking the nearby M4 motorway.

The office has served as Sega Europe's main base since the company shifted focus to third-party publishing in the early 2000s, cementing its importance in the British video game landscape.

For many industry veterans and journalists, the Brentford office has been synonymous with preview events, product launches, and the local presence of one of gaming’s most storied developers. The decision to leave the Brentford site was prompted by the building's sale by the property owner in 2020.

Sources confirm that the structure is set for demolition to make room for new residential developments, capitalizing on the area's growing value due to its proximity to the Gtech Community Stadium—home of Brentford Football Club.

This transition underscores the changing real estate dynamics in West London and represents a significant moment for Sega Europe's operations in the UK. Moving forward, Sega Europe will establish its new headquarters at Chiswick Business Park, occupying 21,000 square feet of office space in Building 12.

The new location ensures that Sega maintains its strategic presence close to central London while modernizing its work environment.

According to communications posted by Sega staffer Simon Crowley on LinkedIn, the transition is already underway and is expected to provide improved facilities for Sega's regional operations, collaborations, and events. Sega Europe's Brentford headquarters has been an integral site for the company since its early third-party publishing days, serving as the focal point for a variety of media gatherings and memorable industry moments.

While the sight of Sonic the Hedgehog presiding over the motorway will be missed by fans and commuters, the company’s move signals both the end of a chapter and the start of a new phase for Sega’s business activities in the UK. Sega, renowned for legendary franchises such as Sonic the Hedgehog and a long-standing commitment to innovation within the gaming industry, continues to be a driving force both in Europe and globally.

This relocation serves as a testament to the company’s adaptability and ambition within the fast-evolving gaming market, ensuring that Sega Europe remains at the forefront of game development, publishing, and community engagement.
