CD PROJEKT RED Games

CD Project Red is a Polish video game developer based in Warsaw and a division of CD Project S.A. The studio is as the creator of The Witcher – a series of action role-playing games based on the series of fantasy novel of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The first installment in the series was also the debut project for the studio. Unlike the later entries, it was published by Atari outside Poland. The game was well-received and had strong sales. Its sequel was released in 2011 and was published by CD Project themselves. In 2015 Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt came out. It became the best-received game in the series and substantial commercial success. It was included in most year-end lists of best games of 2015 by significant gaming publication and by the end of 2016 got more than 800 different awards. Aside from the main trilogy CD Project Red developed several spin-offs for the series. In May 2012, the studio announced their first game not based on The Witcher franchise – an adaptation of tabletop role-playing game Cyberpunk 2020 called Cyberpunk 2077.
