Yooka-Replaylee, the reimagined classic from award-winning studio Playtonic, is set to launch its physical edition just in time for the holiday season.

Publisher PM Studios has officially confirmed that boxed copies for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S will hit retail shelves on December 18, 2023, allowing fans and collectors alike to secure a tangible version ahead of Christmas.

The much-anticipated digital release of Yooka-Replaylee will first land on October 9, 2023, but dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 collectors have been eagerly awaiting news of a cartridge release.

PM Studios' recent announcement delivers clarity, confirming that Switch 2 users will no longer have to rely on placeholder listings: the physical edition is real and imminent. Notably, every boxed copy across all platforms comes packed with a suite of collectible extras.

According to PM Studios’ official statement, "The physical edition for Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 includes the base game, a collectible game map poster, and an exclusive character sticker pack." The package is priced at $49.99 USD.

With its inclusion of unique physical content, the release aims to satisfy both new players and longtime fans of Playtonic’s vibrant platforming franchise. Discussing technical aspects, Playtonic recently addressed the Nintendo Switch 2 version’s performance.

The studio confirmed that the game will launch running at 30 frames per second (fps) on Switch 2 hardware.

However, they have expressed ongoing commitment to post-launch support, stating that they are “exploring the possibility of introducing a performance mode in the future.” Yooka-Replaylee represents Playtonic’s continued expansion of its celebrated universe, following previous critical and commercial successes on the Nintendo eShop and other digital storefronts.
