Wildkeepers Rising by Lioncode Games Heads to Nintendo Switch With Major Version 1.0 Update
Lioncode Games has officially announced the upcoming launch of its survivor-like roguelite action title, Wildkeepers Rising, on the Nintendo Switch.
Previously available in PC Early Access, the game has undergone continuous improvements thanks to robust community feedback, and will make its debut on Nintendo’s flagship hybrid console as part of the complete Version 1.0 rollout.
Wildkeepers Rising made its initial impact on Steam where it received "Mostly Positive" reviews during a seven-month Early Access period.
This feedback-rich phase allowed the developers to refine gameplay mechanics, introduce fresh content, and optimize overall player experience.
The Nintendo Switch edition will feature all enhancements introduced in Version 1.0, ensuring console gamers have access to the best iteration of the game to date.
The full release of Wildkeepers Rising introduces a wealth of new content and polished mechanics, including the addition of two new playable Wildkeepers, Milo and Ivy.
Players can also explore the recently added Fire and Ice environment, which is home to five new Guardians, as well as new enemies and formidable bosses.
In terms of progression, the game features a revamped gear system designed for deeper strategic meta-progression.
Accessibility features have been updated, and significant performance optimizations and bug fixes further ensure a seamless gameplay experience on the Nintendo Switch.
Distinct from traditional action games that focus heavily on manual combat, Wildkeepers Rising challenges players to master movement, optimize build synergies, and strategically command their four-creature teams.
With each run presenting near limitless combinations of Guardians and abilities, the game caters to both novice and seasoned players seeking depth and replayability.
Key gameplay pillars include:
• Bullet Heaven Combat: Face thousands of enemies and craft unique synergies by teaming up with various collectible Guardians.
• Creature Collection: Discover, tame, and upgrade magical beasts capable of unleashing devastating special attacks.
• Dynamic Environments: Experience ingeniously designed maps with intricate topography, adding new layers to in-battle strategy.
• Roguelite Progression: Unlock a range of permanent upgrades in your village hub between runs.
• Endless Mode: Challenge your skills against an ever-growing horde with no level cap and extra sigil slots.
• RPG Elements and Artistry: Immerse yourself in a fantasy world filled with diverse characters and hand-drawn visuals inspired by the likes of Akira Toriyama, Jim Henson, and Hayao Miyazaki.
Sergio Garces, director at Lioncode Games, emphasized the team's ambition for Wildkeepers Rising: "Our goal was to meaningfully evolve the bullet heaven genre.
What distinguishes Wildkeepers Rising is the team-building aspect—each Guardian brings something unique to the table.
Instead of simply collecting power-ups, players can create genuine synergy within their teams.
Coupled with varied missions, environments that significantly influence strategy, and a broad range of monsters and spells, we believe the game offers both instant gratification and strategic complexity."
While the precise Nintendo Switch release date has yet to be announced, Wildkeepers Rising’s upcoming arrival on the platform marks a significant milestone for Lioncode Games, bringing this acclaimed indie roguelite to a broad new audience via the eShop.
