Wild Hearts S: All the New Features and Enhancements on Nintendo Switch 2 Wild Hearts S, the acclaimed Monster Hunter-like action game developed by Koei Tecmo, is making its highly anticipated debut on Nintendo Switch 2.

Originally launched on other platforms with EA handling publishing duties, the new release marks Koei Tecmo's full control over the title as both developer and publisher.

Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, Wild Hearts S brings a suite of platform-specific enhancements and updates tailored for the Nintendo Switch successor. Enhanced Multiplayer and Gameplay Updates One of the standout features introduced in Wild Hearts S is its expanded multiplayer support.

Koei Tecmo confirms that the maximum number of players for both local and online co-op has been increased from three to four, giving players even more options for seamless co-operative hunts.

However, cross-platform multiplayer is not available, and online play requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which is sold separately.

Unlike the original release, players no longer need an EA account to access online features, streamlining the multiplayer experience for Switch 2 users. Communication and System Compatibility Wild Hearts S does not offer in-game voice or text chat integration, but players on the Nintendo Switch 2 can take advantage of the console's "Game Chat" function to coordinate with others.

While the title brings many improvements, certain features such as HDR support remain absent in this version. Content and Balance Adjustments A comprehensive update package comes included out of the box, featuring all additional beasts and new modes previously added to Wild Hearts.

However, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition will not include extra weapons, Karakuri, or additional monsters beyond what has already been introduced. Gameplay balance has been fine-tuned for this new release.

Koei Tecmo details that weapon and armor parameters have been adjusted, making it more manageable to take on challenging bosses earlier in the game.

Updates also modify beast behavior, reducing the frequency and unpredictability of their escapes during hunts, creating a more player-friendly experience. Bonus Content and Editions Players who pick up Wild Hearts S on Nintendo Switch 2 will benefit from expanded bonus content.

The “WILD HEARTS Karakuri Edition” extras—such as the Karakuri Samurai Cladding and Karakuri Ninja Cladding cosmetic armor sets, a Tsukumo Lantern accessory, and three unique emotes—are all bundled with this new version.

Pre-order incentives, including the “Ferocious Kemono” emote and Perk 1-5 Stamp, are also incorporated directly into Wild Hearts S for Switch 2 users. Release Date and Gameplay Experience Wild Hearts S is slated for launch on July 25, 2025, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
