In its public notice, Digital Bros said the company decided to discontinue development on Directorate: Novitiate, Armed Fantasia and the planned sequel to the free-to-play game Battle Island following multiple attempts to revise their gameplay.
The company stated the decisions came after a thorough review of each project’s market potential and the additional investment that would be required to complete development and bring them to market.
Digital Bros reported a non-cash asset impairment of €18.7 million tied to these actions, including €17.6 million in write-offs related to the discontinued projects and €1 million in impairment losses for games where expected future cash flows were assessed below carrying amounts.
