Description

Total Mayhem Games has officially announced that the acclaimed We Were Here series is set to debut on the Nintendo Switch platform in 2025.

This celebrated collection of cooperative puzzle adventures will bring its first three titles to the Nintendo eShop, allowing Nintendo Switch players to experience the unique asymmetrical co-op gameplay that has garnered the series widespread praise.

In addition, the publisher confirmed that these titles will support backwards compatibility with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, ensuring continued accessibility for fans as Nintendo transitions to its next-generation console. The We Were Here series places players in the roles of Antarctic explorers thrust into a complex mystery centered on the enigmatic Castle Rock.

Designed for two players, the games require partners to collaborate and communicate using separate devices.

Each participant receives different pieces of information, making clear verbal communication essential for solving challenging, interconnected puzzles.

On Nintendo Switch, this cooperative experience will require two devices and an active Nintendo Switch Online Membership.

Players will also need a headset equipped with a microphone, or another method for real-time communication with their partner. Cross-platform support is currently under development, promising the possibility for Nintendo Switch gamers to connect with players on other systems in the future.

This move aligns with Total Mayhem Games' stated mission to foster connection, communication, and teamwork across all gaming platforms. Thomas Huster, operations director at Total Mayhem Games, shared his enthusiasm about the series coming to Switch.

He explained, "We are thrilled to welcome Nintendo Switch players to the We Were Here series.

Our goal has always been to connect friends, family, and new acquaintances through our games, regardless of platform.

Nintendo's commitment to fun and bringing people together dovetails perfectly with our creative vision." First launched in 2017, the We Were Here franchise has seen multiple successful entries and has become especially renowned for its engaging puzzles and reliance on collaborative problem solving.

The series has accumulated a loyal following across its releases on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, with millions of downloads worldwide. Fans eager to experience these atmospheric adventures can anticipate the first three We Were Here games arriving on the Nintendo Switch eShop in 2025.

With backwards compatibility for Nintendo Switch 2 and forthcoming cross-platform functionality, this expansion makes the series more accessible to co-op puzzle enthusiasts than ever before.
