Total Mayhem Games has officially announced that its celebrated asymmetric co-op puzzle franchise, the We Were Here series, will launch on Nintendo Switch in 2025.
The release brings the critically acclaimed trilogy—We Were Here, We Were Here Too, and We Were Here Together—to Nintendo’s popular hybrid console for the first time.
In addition, the games will be compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and cross-platform play is currently in development—a strategic move aimed at uniting a global player base.
Originally unveiled during recent Nintendo news updates, this digital release on the Nintendo eShop marks a significant expansion for both the studio and Nintendo Switch’s ever-expanding lineup of quality multiplayer titles.
Developed by Rotterdam-based Total Mayhem Games, the We Were Here series is widely recognized for its innovative take on cooperative gameplay, where players must collaborate to solve diverse, asymmetric puzzles.
Set against the mysterious backdrop of Castle Rock in Antarctica, players are split up and need to communicate effectively, as each is privy to different clues and information essential for progressing through the game’s story-driven challenges.
Total Mayhem Games operations director Thomas Huster shared the studio’s enthusiasm for the upcoming Switch debut, emphasizing the company’s mission to connect people through interactive experiences.
"We’re thrilled to welcome Nintendo Switch players to the We Were Here Series.
At Total Mayhem Games, it’s our goal to help friends, families, and new acquaintances connect—regardless of their preferred platform.
Nintendo’s emphasis on fun and togetherness fits perfectly with our studio’s vision and the core of what makes We Were Here a standout co-op series."
Launched originally on PC and later adapted for PlayStation and Xbox platforms, the We Were Here games have received multiple accolades for their unmatched cooperative gameplay and immersive atmosphere.
The series has enjoyed commercial and critical success, with millions of downloads and a strong community that continues to grow thanks to its unique emphasis on teamwork and communication.
With digital releases set for the Nintendo eShop worldwide in 2025, and with development underway for cross-platform play, Total Mayhem Games is poised to introduce its esteemed puzzle adventure series to an even broader audience.
Integration with Nintendo Switch 2 ensures players will enjoy the trilogy for years to come, maintaining compatibility with the latest Nintendo hardware advancements.
As anticipation builds for its arrival on Nintendo Switch, the We Were Here series represents a compelling addition to the platform’s cooperative game catalog—a testament to both Total Mayhem Games’ commitment to innovation and Nintendo’s enduring appeal for social gaming experiences.
