Culdcept Series Expands: Culdcept Begins and Culdcept The First Announced for Nintendo Switch and PC

The renowned card-based turn-based strategy franchise, Culdcept, is set for a major return with the official announcement of two new entries: Culdcept Begins and Culdcept The First.

Revealed during the latest Nintendo Partner Direct, these titles mark a significant expansion for OmiyaSoft’s beloved series and will launch on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC in 2026. Culdcept Begins, helmed by developer Neos Corporation, is described as a brand-new chapter in the series, drawing players into the story of Kamur, a distinguished member of the Royal Cepter Guard Regiment.

According to the official reveal, Culdcept Begins will feature an impressive roster of over 400 cards, preserving the deep tactical gameplay that longtime fans appreciate.

The game is scheduled for release on July 16, 2026, and will be available for Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2 hardware, and PC platforms. Alongside the new entry, City Connection is delivering Culdcept The First, an enhanced port of the original Culdcept title that debuted on the Sega Saturn in 1997.

Designed to bring classic Culdcept gameplay to a new generation, this remaster is currently announced exclusively for PC.

Culdcept The First incorporates modern quality-of-life features, such as a rewind function, quick save capabilities, and the ability to switch in-game text between Japanese and English.

Fans can look forward to its debut on July 30, 2026. The Culdcept series, under the stewardship of OmiyaSoft and its associated developers, has built a dedicated following since its inception.

Notable previous releases include Culdcept Second for PlayStation 2, Culdcept Saga for Xbox 360, Culdcept DS for Nintendo DS, and Culdcept Revolt for Nintendo 3DS, highlighting the franchise’s presence across a broad range of hardware generations. Neos Corporation’s leadership on Culdcept Begins and City Connection’s handling of Culdcept The First reflect the series’ commitment to both innovation and preservation of its legacy.

With these 2026 releases, longtime fans and newcomers alike will have multiple ways to engage with Culdcept’s unique blend of deck-building and board game strategy on modern platforms.
