Famitsu Weekly Sales: Switch 2 Drops to 24,928 Units as Rhythm Heaven Groove Tops Software Chart

Japan’s latest weekly sales, compiled by Famitsu, show the Switch 2 leading hardware numbers while Nintendo-published Rhythm Heaven Groove dominates software charts.

Famitsu’s weekly tallies provide a key snapshot of physical retail performance in Japan, covering both console shipments and boxed game sales.

Hardware: week-to-week shifts

According to Famitsu, the hardware chart for the most recent week lists Switch 2 at 24,928 units, followed by the PS5 Digital Edition at 9,024 units.

Nintendo’s other hardware showed smaller totals: Switch Lite 2,930, Switch OLED 2,853, and the legacy Switch at 613.

Sony’s PS5 Pro recorded 350 units and the PS5 (standard) 200 units.

Microsoft’s family registered lower figures: Xbox Series S at 43, Xbox Series X Digital Edition at 31, and Xbox Series X at 19.

For direct comparison, Famitsu’s prior week reported Switch 2 at 28,755 units and PS5 Digital Edition at 10,657.

Other week-over-week figures included Switch OLED 4,056 and Switch Lite 4,040 in the earlier period, versus the lower numbers listed above this week.

Software: Rhythm Heaven Groove leads

Famitsu’s software chart places Rhythm Heaven Groove at number one with 76,786 copies sold this week and a cumulative total of 596,237 units.

The PS5 eBaseball: Pro Spirit 2026 entered at number two with 20,661 copies.

Nintendo Switch releases also performed strongly: Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream sold 18,608 this week (1,476,557 total), and Kyoto Xanadu appeared on both Switch and PS5 charts as new entries (15,431 on Switch, 13,206 on PS5).

Other notable entries include Culdcept Begins in both Switch and Switch 2 editions (12,734 for the NS2 edition and 6,940 for the NSW edition), the new 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X (8,674), Powerful Pro Baseball 2026-2027 (7,496, 176,009 cumulative), and Pokemon Pokopia for Nintendo Switch 2 at 4,503 this week (1,086,699 total).
