PowerWash Simulator Free DLC Packs to Be Delisted: Tomb Raider and Midgar Content Leaving eShop in May 2026

PowerWash Simulator fans on Nintendo Switch and other platforms will want to mark their calendars: two major free DLC packs, featuring content from the Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy VII Remake series, are set to be delisted from digital storefronts in 2026.

Developer FuturLab confirmed that the Tomb Raider Special Pack and Midgar Special Pack will no longer be available after 3pm BST / 10am EST on May 19, 2026, affecting all supported platforms including the Nintendo Switch eShop. PowerWash Simulator, first published by Square Enix and developed by UK-based studio FuturLab, became an instant hit after its initial release on PC in 2021 and subsequent arrival on Nintendo Switch and other consoles.

The title is known for its relaxing gameplay loop, inviting players to spray away grime from a wide range of objects and environments.

The addition of the Tomb Raider Special Pack and Midgar Special Pack expanded the game’s appeal, allowing fans to meticulously clean iconic settings such as Croft Manor and Seventh Heaven. In a recent announcement, FuturLab explained that the removal of these crossover DLCs is tied to the end of their formal publishing relationship with Square Enix, which expires in June 2026.

"This update coincides with the conclusion of our collaboration with Square Enix, who originally published PowerWash Simulator," the statement reads in part.

Notably, PowerWash Simulator 2 will be self-published by FuturLab, marking a significant evolution for the studio’s business model and creative control. FuturLab took the opportunity to praise Square Enix, describing their publishing partnership as an "incredible experience" that helped the original game find its global audience.

However, with the partnership ending, fans should not expect further collaborations or licensed content from franchises like Final Fantasy or Tomb Raider in future sequels. The Tomb Raider Special Pack lets players clean up a range of legendary relics from Lara Croft's adventures, including her Treasure Room, signature Jeep and Motorboat, Croft Manor’s sprawling grounds, and classic obstacle courses.

Meanwhile, the Midgar Special Pack draws directly from Final Fantasy VII Remake, assigning players to scrub down memorable objects ranging from the Hardy Daytona and Shinra Hauler to mechs like the Scorpion Sentinel and Airbuster, and even the atmospheric Mako Energy Exhibit and Seventh Heaven bar. Both packs were offered as free downloads, making them must-haves for long-time players and recent adopters alike.

As fans look ahead to new hardware like the anticipated Switch 2 and enjoy enhanced performance thanks to features such as Boost Mode, the farewell to this iconic content serves as a reminder of licensing complexities in the modern gaming landscape. For anyone who hasn’t yet added the Tomb Raider and Midgar DLC packs to their PowerWash Simulator library, now is the time to act.

Download the packs through the Nintendo Switch eShop or your preferred platform before May 19, 2026, to ensure you don’t miss out on these celebrated crossover experiences.
