AYANEO, renowned for its innovative handheld gaming devices, has officially announced the upcoming Flip 1S DS and Flip 1S KB—two refreshed models set to expand its lineup of clamshell, Windows-based portables in 2025.
Building upon the distinct dual-screen design inspired by the classic Nintendo DS, these new AYANEO Flip 1S devices aim to deliver state-of-the-art technology for portable gaming enthusiasts.
During a livestream held on June 16, AYANEO confirmed that not only will the Flip 1S DS be available later this year, but the Flip KB model is also making a return as the Flip 1S KB.
Both devices feature notable hardware upgrades and refinements, as detailed on AYANEO’s blog and reported by Notebook Check, with a focus on performance, display quality, and user experience enhancements.
The Flip 1S DS stands out as AYANEO’s next-generation dual-screen portable, replacing the previous 7-inch IPS display with a vibrant 7-inch OLED screen at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, delivering unprecedented visuals for a handheld device.
The secondary touchscreen has been expanded to 4.5 inches with a higher resolution of 1620 x 1080, improving both usability and clarity for multitasking or unique gaming setups.
The heart of the system is the advanced AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, a significant boost from the Ryzen 7 7840U found in earlier models, paired with fast LPDDR5X memory and PCIe 4.0 SSD storage for seamless gameplay and system responsiveness.
On the ergonomics front, the returning Flip 1S KB carries many of the same innovations as the DS model but retains its signature RGB keyboard, updated with a revised layout and resized function keys.
According to AYANEO, these modifications provide users with an enhanced tactile feel and improved visual harmony while maintaining the ergonomic benefits that set the original Flip KB apart.

- Main Screen: 7" 1920 x 1080 OLED, 144Hz, up to 800 nits brightness

AYANEO has indicated that both the Flip 1S DS and Flip 1S KB will be offered with either the flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor or the more cost-effective AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, providing consumers with additional options to accommodate different budgets.
However, the company has yet to announce official pricing, though expectations are set for a premium price tag due to the cutting-edge hardware involved.
An Indiegogo pre-launch page for the Flip 1S series is now live, with the full crowdfunding campaign expected to commence at the end of June 2025.
Additionally, AYANEO is preparing for another major press conference slated for early July, where further information about the devices, launch dates, and retail strategies will likely be shared.
Since their debut, AYANEO’s Flip handhelds—including the Flip KB and Flip DS—have received recognition for merging innovative dual-screen configurations with laptop-class internals, blurring the line between portable consoles and powerful miniature PCs.
