The remastered edition, developed by Digital Eclipse and based on the 2010 animated film, arrives the same day as Toy Story: Retro Roundup and brings previously platform-exclusive content to all versions.
According to Digital Eclipse, the Nintendo Switch version of Toy Story 3: Complete Edition runs at 30 frames per second, with a resolution of 900p when docked and 640p in handheld mode.
The developer confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 build targets a higher technical ceiling: the game runs at 60 frames per second and uses a 1080p render.
These specifications represent the officially disclosed performance and visual targets for each platform.
Toy Story 3: Complete Edition restores Story Mode and Toy Box Mode from the original release, with modernized visuals and added content.
In Story Mode players swap between Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie to play through set-piece moments from the film, including the train rescue, Operation Playtime and the junkyard sequence, using each character’s distinct abilities.
Toy Box Mode returns as the customizable sandbox experience set in Woody’s Roundup, where players can accept quests, earn in-game currency and personalize the town and its inhabitants.
The Complete Edition also consolidates previously exclusive material: players can access Emperor Zurg in Toy Box Mode and four additional Theme Packs that were restricted on earlier releases.
Digital Eclipse noted that the Complete Edition features upgraded graphics, resolution improvements and higher frame rates compared with older versions.
The original 2010 console release on PlayStation 3 targeted 30 frames per second; the Switch 2 build doubles that frame rate to 60 FPS according to the developer.
The title will be available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 15.
As with other Switch releases, players can expect digital availability through the Nintendo eShop at launch.
Fans of the franchise should find both the restored content and the technical improvements of interest when the Complete Edition arrives.
