Tomo: Endless Blue Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 — Onibi Confirms New Port After Kickstarter Surge

Onibi has announced plans to bring its Kickstarter-funded title Tomo: Endless Blue to Nintendo Switch 2, the studio revealed alongside an update to its campaign.

The living-world, creature-collecting RPG is being developed as a voxel open-world experience and has drawn significant attention on Kickstarter, surpassing $170,000 in pledges from more than 1,400 backers after hitting its $100,000 goal in under 60 hours.

Tomo: Endless Blue positions itself as an open-world creature-collecting RPG set across a vast ocean dotted with mysterious islands.

Players will discover and collect more than 150 species of Tomo, capture and breed them, construct habitats and settlements, explore cooperatively with friends, and investigate the hidden history of the Vagari within a dynamic world designed to be shaped by player activity.

Onibi founder and CEO Benjamin Devienne told backers that the studio has been hearing persistent requests to support Nintendo Switch 2 since the Kickstarter launched.

He explained that the core fantasy of setting sail to find rare creatures and building a living world feels particularly well-suited to Nintendo hardware, and the team chose to confirm a Nintendo Switch 2 version to mark the final days of the campaign.

Onibi also said it will announce launch timing at a later date.

A trailer accompanying the announcement highlights the title’s voxel aesthetic and some of its creature interactions; the studio released the footage to showcase the newly confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 version.

At the time of the update, the Kickstarter campaign had fewer than three days remaining and remained open for additional pledges.
