Tifa Joins Street Fighter 6 Season 4: Capcom Confirms Final Fantasy VII Crossover

Capcom confirmed at Summer Game Fest that Tifa Lockhart—originally from Final Fantasy VII—will be a playable DLC fighter in Street Fighter 6 as part of the game's Year Four season pass.

Street Fighter 6, developed and published by Capcom, launched in June 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PC and has since been supported with multiple seasonal updates and DLC additions.

In a clear statement during the Summer Game Fest presentation, Capcom announced that the Season 4 roster for Street Fighter 6 will include four fighters: three entirely new series originals—Yasmine, Arjun and Bosch—and a crossover guest character, Tifa.

Capcom outlined a release order for those fighters, indicating Yasmine will arrive first, followed by Arjun and Bosch, with Tifa scheduled for release in 2027 as part of the Year Four pass.

Rewriting the announcement in plain journalistic terms: Capcom confirmed that Street Fighter 6’s fourth season will introduce three brand-new core-series characters—Yasmine, Arjun and Bosch—alongside a high-profile guest fighter.

The publisher specifically named Final Fantasy VII’s Tifa as that guest fighter and placed her rollout late in the Year Four timetable.

Capcom has pointed to Street Fighter 6 as a commercial success; the company reported that Street Fighter 6 has reached six million units sold worldwide, a milestone that has contributed to stronger overall financial results alongside Resident Evil sales.

Those achievements have reinforced Capcom’s ongoing support strategy for Street Fighter 6, which includes seasonal characters, balance updates, and online features.

Bosch previously appeared in Street Fighter 6’s Story Campaign but will be fully playable as part of Season 4.

Capcom’s decision to populate an entire season with mostly original characters underscores the developer’s focus on expanding the franchise’s roster while leveraging occasional crossover appeal.

Street Fighter 6 continues to be available across current-generation consoles and PC, and Capcom’s roadmap for Year Four will be rolled out in stages; the company has not provided exact calendar dates for each fighter beyond the 2027 window for Tifa.

Fans can expect additional details and footage as Capcom releases official previews ahead of each DLC launch.
