Bel's Fanfare Kickstarter Surpasses Funding Goal Within 24 Hours: Chibig's New RPG-Bullet Hell Hybrid Coming to Nintendo Switch and More

Chibig, the acclaimed Spanish independent studio known for hits like Summer in Mara and Mika and the Witch's Mountain, has quickly achieved remarkable success with the Kickstarter campaign for its newest title, Bel's Fanfare.

Announced via social media on January 15, 2026, Bel's Fanfare is a highly-anticipated RPG and bullet hell hybrid currently being developed for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Steam, PS4, and PS5.

Launched on February 4, 2026, the crowdfunding campaign for Bel's Fanfare surpassed its €40,000 funding goal in under 24 hours, raising an impressive €121,344 so far.

With 31 days left in the campaign, the figure is expected to climb further as more backers become aware of the project and Chibig aims to unlock additional stretch goals. Backers can choose from several reward tiers, including digital editions for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Steam, and PlayStation platforms, ranging between €18 and €30.

Physical editions, some packaged with a figurine of the protagonist Bel, are also available.

The estimated release date is set for October 2027, though Chibig has noted this is a forecast and may be subject to change based on development challenges common in Kickstarter projects. Bel's Fanfare stands out with its combination of Zelda-inspired 3D exploration and intense bullet hell combat, set aboard the atmospheric cruiser known as The Witch of the Sea.

The story centers on Bel, a demon-like "aura cleaner," whose role is to purify the ship's rooms and help its peculiar passengers confront their spiritual burdens.

With the gifted Ukobach gong-shield, Bel navigates intricate puzzles and faces off against manifestations of passengers' traumas in frenetic, bullet-dodging arenas. In the studio's own words, Bel's Fanfare tells the tale of "a ship once renowned for its arcane prestige but now overflowing with unruly aura, negatively impacting its voyagers." In a bid to save the vessel, Captain Popplar enlists the demon Belceboo, who empowers his daughter Bel with the family heirloom shield and tasks her with purifying the ship—a journey that secretly aims to liberate Bel's family from captivity. Chibig, continuing its tradition of blending captivating storytelling with innovative gameplay, has already built a strong reputation among Nintendo Switch and indie gaming enthusiasts.

Following the successful Kickstarter campaign for their metroidvania project Elusive, the rapid momentum for Bel's Fanfare not only underscores the studio's rising profile but also the gaming community's appetite for ambitious, genre-blending experiences. Bel's Fanfare is shaping up as a unique addition to the Nintendo Switch lineup, and its cross-platform release promises to bring Chibig's hallmark artistry and engaging design to a broad audience.
