Trails From Zero and Trails To Azure Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 10, 2026

NIS America has announced remastered editions of The Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails To Azure for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, both scheduled to release on September 10, 2026.

The two titles, originally developed by Nihon Falcom as part of the long-running Trails series, will arrive with upgraded visuals, performance improvements, and platform-specific enhancements.

According to NIS America, the Switch 2 and PS5 releases include enhanced textures and visual upgrades, higher frame rates up to 120 FPS, optional 4K resolution on supported hardware, and a toggle to switch between original and upscaled textures.

NIS America also confirmed that the Switch 2 versions will support mouse controls to better accommodate menu navigation and tactical gameplay.

The publisher is accepting pre-orders for a limited edition bundle that contains both games and a collection of physical extras.

The bundle includes a special box, an art book, soundtrack CDs, holographic art cards, an acrylic stand, iron-on insignias, and a Mishelam Wonderland coaster set, in addition to copies of both titles.

Trails From Zero overview

Revisit Crossbell in this chapter of the Trails universe, where political tensions and organized crime shape a densely written city-state.

Players follow Lloyd Bannings as he returns home after three years and joins the Crossbell Police Department.

Assigned to the Special Support Section, Lloyd and his new teammates — including Elie MacDowell, Randy Orlando, and Tio Plato — undertake odd jobs that gradually uncover larger conspiracies.

Key features listed by the publisher include improved high-definition textures, a High-Speed Mode to accelerate gameplay, and options to prioritize visual fidelity or performance.

Trails To Azure overview

Trails To Azure continues Lloyd Bannings story a few months after Trails From Zero.

The sequel adds new combat mechanics such as Burst and Back Attack and introduces customizable elements including an in-game car.

NIS America notes that players will be able to import save data from Trails From Zero to unlock additional conversations and alternate dialogue, providing continuity between the two releases.

Release and platform notes

Both remastered titles launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 on September 10, 2026, with pre-orders available through NIS America.

The publisher emphasizes performance modes, mouse support on Switch 2, and upgraded audiovisual presentation as core enhancements for these editions.
