The highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is set to debut on the platform on January 22, 2026, giving fans of both Nintendo and the seminal PlayStation original a concrete date to look forward to.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the expanded edition featuring enhanced graphics and the "Episode INTERmission" story chapter, will pave the way for the trilogy’s presence on the Switch 2.
Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the acclaimed sequel, will also be released for Nintendo’s new console, alongside the upcoming and currently untitled third installment in the remake series.

Square Enix has further clarified that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade’s physical edition on Switch 2 will utilize the Game-Key Card format.

The company’s representatives emphasized commitment to quality and authenticity, noting that development for Switch 2 aims to leverage the enhanced capabilities of the platform for both visual fidelity and performance.
Originally released on PlayStation 4 in 2020, Final Fantasy VII Remake quickly garnered critical and commercial success, with subsequent updates and the Intergrade edition launching on PlayStation 5 and PC.
The series has been lauded for its faithful adaptation of the beloved 1997 classic, modernized with stunning visuals, real-time combat, and expanded storylines.
