The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026, with Bethesda confirming performance, resolution, and edition details ahead of launch.
Originally developed by Bethesda Game Studios and first released in 2006, Oblivion remains a landmark open-world RPG, and this remaster targets Nintendo’s next-generation handheld-console hybrid hardware with updated features and modern conveniences for players new and returning to Tamriel.
Performance and visual targets
Bethesda has confirmed that Oblivion Remastered will run at a locked 30 frames per second on Nintendo Switch 2 in both docked and handheld modes.
Resolution targets differ by mode: the remaster will output at 1080p when the system is docked and at 900p in handheld play.
The studio also stated that NVIDIA DLSS is supported in both docked and handheld configurations to assist with image quality and performance on the platform.
Controls and accessibility
According to the official announcement, the remaster adds native support for motion controls and the touch screen on Nintendo Switch 2, expanding input options beyond traditional controllers.
Bethesda also confirmed Left and Right Hand mouse modes for players who prefer inverted or mirrored mouse input schemes.
