AYANEO has confirmed a new production run and restock for the AYANEO Pocket Micro 2, announcing that pre-orders open on July 10, 2026, at 8:00 PM PDT and that shipping is expected to begin in late August.
The Pocket Micro 2 is the successor to 2024’s AYANEO Pocket Micro and arrived with a more powerful processor, an improved battery and dual power TMR joysticks, positioning it as a competitive entrant in the retro handheld market.
The device originally went on sale in late June and sold out almost immediately after overseas customers discovered only a limited allocation had been made available.
AYANEO previously told customers it would "evaluate the level of demand and determine whether it can meet the minimum order quantity (MOQ) requirements for another production run," but cautioned it could not guarantee additional stock.
The company reiterated those supply discussions on its Discord channel while exploring options with suppliers.
AYANEO’s head of sales, John Nee, explained the initial shortage by stating the company had prepared more than 1,000 units overall, but strong domestic pre-order demand in China caused sales to exceed the inventory earmarked for that market.
As a result, AYANEO allocated just 100 units for overseas customers and temporarily removed the product from the global storefront to avoid unfulfillable orders.
For this new run, AYANEO has introduced a 6 GB + 128 GB Stardust Purple edition priced at $269, which joins the earlier configurations:
- Frosty White and Midnight Black — 6 GB + 128 GB: Launch offer $239, retail $269
- Frosty White and Midnight Black — 8 GB + 256 GB: Launch offer $279, retail $309
