QUByte Interactive has officially unveiled the Street Racer Collection for Nintendo Switch, reaffirming the company’s dedication to bringing retro gaming classics to modern platforms.
Scheduled for launch on November 27, 2025, the Street Racer Collection delivers an authentic slice of 90s arcade racing and battle action directly to contemporary audiences via the Nintendo eShop.
Originally developed as a bridge between high-speed racing and brawling competition, Street Racer quickly became a cult favorite thanks to its inventive mechanics and irreverent style.
The new collection, curated by QUByte Interactive, features four classic versions—Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), SEGA Genesis, MS-DOS, and Game Boy—providing a comprehensive cross-section of the game’s rich history.
Players will be able to relive the chaos and creativity that defined an era of multiplayer kart racing.
"Street Racer’s unique blend of arcade racing and arena combat left an indelible mark on the genre," a QUByte Interactive spokesperson stated during the announcement.
"We’re proud to preserve its legacy and make it accessible to a new generation of players on the Nintendo Switch."
The Street Racer Collection offers robust content, including:
- Four complete versions: SNES, SEGA Genesis (Mega Drive), MS-DOS, and Game Boy editions.
- Up to 27 distinctive tracks, each with hidden shortcuts, traps, and inventive stage challenges ranging from Mount Rushmore to Transylvania.
- Eight offbeat cartoon racers, each equipped with special attacks and imaginative vehicles.
- Local multiplayer support for up to four players (across SNES, SEGA Genesis, and MS-DOS versions), reviving classic couch co-op gameplay.
- Multiple racing and battle modes: Practice, Head-to-Head, Championship, Rumble Mode (arena combat), and the inventive Soccer Mode (excluding MS-DOS version), allowing players to compete in soccer matches with racing cars.
- Flexible race settings, from quick sprints to grueling 80-lap marathons, to suit all play styles.
Street Racer’s pioneering mix of kart racing and vehicular combat paved the way for many successors in the genre, and the Street Racer Collection remains true to its roots.
This digital package preserves all the quirky humor, fast-paced action, and bold design that players remember, with the added convenience of portability on the Nintendo Switch.
For fans of classic racing games or those seeking a dose of nostalgia, Street Racer Collection represents both a look back at a formative title and a chance to enjoy pure arcade fun—alone or with friends in local multiplayer.
The Street Racer Collection will be available exclusively as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop starting November 27, 2025.
