Stellar Blade is confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 this year, developer Shift Up's action-adventure RPG that originally launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in 2024.

The Switch 2 port was announced during last month's Nintendo Direct; Nintendo has said the title will arrive this year, but a specific launch date has not been provided.

An official ESRB rating has now gone live for the Switch 2 version.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board assigned Stellar Blade a rating of M for Mature 17+, citing content descriptors including blood and gore, language, suggestive themes, and violence.

The ESRB summary describes the game as a third-person action-adventure RPG in which players control a super soldier battling an invading alien force across apocalyptic environments while completing mission objectives.

According to the ESRB synopsis, combat is melee-focused but also incorporates firearms and futuristic weapons: players employ blades, machine guns, and laser blasters in fast-paced encounters marked by sword strikes, large explosions, and realistic gunfire.

The rating notes frequent blood-splatter effects and scenes that depict impalement, dismemberment, and decapitation during both combat and cutscenes.

The board also highlights portrayals of some female characters in revealing outfits (for example, deep cleavage and skintight, flesh-toned bodysuits), including character models that exhibit breast jiggle during combat.

The rating further records the use of strong language, specifically the word "sh*t."

Shift Up, the South Korean studio behind Stellar Blade, developed the original PlayStation 5 release in 2024 with support from Sony.

That PS5 launch remains the game's first-platform release and has been covered in reviews on outlets such as Push Square.

The ESRB listing is a verified step in the lead-up to a platform release and often appears ahead of storefront listings or formal date announcements.

Nintendo, Shift Up, and the ESRB entries are the current confirmed sources of information; no official Switch 2 release date or eShop listing has been announced at this time.

We will update coverage when Nintendo provides further release details for Stellar Blade on Nintendo Switch 2.
