Square Enix Unveils Robust Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 Lineup for Tokyo Game Show 2025
As anticipation builds for the Tokyo Game Show 2025 (TGS 2025), set to take place from September 25 through September 28, industry giant Square Enix has officially revealed its full roster of playable titles for the event.
This year’s showcase is notable for its heavy focus on Nintendo hardware, with a majority of the announced games offering hands-on demos for both the Nintendo Switch and the next-generation Switch 2.
Square Enix has confirmed that most mainline and highly anticipated titles for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 will be available on the show floor for attendees to try firsthand.
Among the headliners are the Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, both celebrated for their classic RPG roots and newly enhanced visual style.
These remakes will feature demos accessible to the public and, in the case of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, special photo and stage spots for fans.
Final Fantasy fans will also find plenty to look forward to.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, set to release on Switch 2 and Xbox Series, will offer a hands-on demo and interactive photo opportunities.
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Italic Chronicles is set to receive cross-platform coverage, including demos for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
Additionally, Final Fantasy 14 Online will be present, though limited to photo spots, stage presentations, and mascot meet and greets rather than a playable demo.
One notable update is that Dragon Quest X Online and Octopath Traveler 0, although featured in the lineup for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, will not have playable demos, but they will be celebrated through stage events.
A representative from Square Enix explained in an official statement, “We’re excited to offer a robust, hands-on experience to players with our largest-ever presence on the Nintendo Switch platforms at Tokyo Game Show 2025.”
Other key games featured in Square Enix’s TGS 2025 lineup include The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (also on Switch 2), and Killer Inn for PC, both offering playable demos.
With a lineup that spans beloved franchises and hotly anticipated new releases, Square Enix is set to make a significant impact at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
The publisher joins other major participants such as Arc System Works, Bandai Namco, and Capcom — all of whom have confirmed their own diverse show rosters.
Fans and industry insiders can expect further details and gameplay impressions directly from the show as TGS 2025 gets underway, underscoring Nintendo’s strong partnership with top developers as the Switch and upcoming Switch 2 remain at the forefront of video game innovation.
