Square Enix Announces 'Piano Fantasies' Album Featuring Iconic Game Music from Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and More

Square Enix, the renowned developer and publisher behind some of the most iconic role-playing games in history, is bringing a new musical experience to fans with the announcement of the 'Piano Fantasies – music from Square Enix' album.

Set for release in October 2024, this album showcases beloved tracks from celebrated franchises, including Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Secret of Mana, all reimagined for solo piano. 'Piano Fantasies' promises listeners 12 newly crafted solo piano arrangements performed by the acclaimed pianist Mischa Yeung.

The rearrangements are credited to accomplished musicians Andrew Cottee, Michael Fuchs, Roger Wanamo, and Torsten Rasch, who have taken classics originally composed by industry titans Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Hiroki Kikuta and transformed them into evocative piano pieces. Square Enix has confirmed the album will launch simultaneously in Japan and Europe.

In Europe, fans can currently preorder the album through Black Screen Records, available as a CD for €20.00 or as a 2-LP set on either black or mint 180g vinyl for €45.00.

Japanese audiences can purchase the album and find additional concert information via the official Square Enix Japan website. To further mark this special release, Square Enix will host a commemorative concert at the esteemed Daiichi Seimei Hall in Tokyo on October 31, 2024.

Mischa Yeung is set to perform the full album live, delivering a uniquely immersive experience for attendees.

According to official announcements, advance ticket sales will open this weekend, while Playguide tickets are scheduled for release on July 21, 2025.
