Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Reveals Nickelodeon Crossovers and Season Pass Content for Nintendo Switch

At the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2025, SEGA surprised fans by debuting a new trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, showcasing a major crossover with several beloved Nickelodeon franchises.

The upcoming kart racer—developed by SEGA for Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Switch 2—will introduce characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), and Avatar: The Last Airbender as playable racers in future downloadable content. The trailer confirmed that both SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star will be joining the Sonic Racing roster, each bringing their signature flair to the game.

Players can look forward to racing through an all-new Bikini Bottom track, complete with the iconic Patty Wagon kart, immersing fans of the animated series directly into SpongeBob’s undersea world.

While the trailer highlighted SpongeBob and Patrick, it did not include gameplay footage of TMNT or Avatar: The Last Airbender characters.

Further, SEGA has not released a specific date for the availability of these new crossover racers. The additional characters will be part of the Season Pass DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

According to SEGA, this content will come bundled with the Digital Deluxe Edition and will also be available for purchase separately via the Nintendo eShop.

Earlier this month, at Summer Game Fest, SEGA announced that Steve, Alex, and Creeper from Minecraft are included in the first Season Pass content pack.

With the recent unveiling of SpongeBob, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar: The Last Airbender occupying the next three slots in the pass, two additional crossover packs remain to be announced. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is slated for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving at a later date.

The title continues SEGA’s tradition of bringing fast-paced, character-driven kart racing to Nintendo platforms and leverages iconic IPs to broaden its appeal across generations of gamers.
