Pac-Man Joins Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in Major SEGA Crossover Event

SEGA has revealed a groundbreaking crossover for fans of classic gaming, officially confirming that Pac-Man will be joining the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Season Pass.

This highly anticipated addition brings together two titans of video game history—Pac-Man and Sonic the Hedgehog—on the Nintendo Switch and other platforms, marking a significant moment for arcade and racing game enthusiasts alike. Pac-Man and his famous adversaries, the Ghosts, are set to enter the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds universe, racing alongside Sonic’s crew and a cast of characters from various SEGA franchises and beyond.

SEGA has also unveiled a specially designed track inspired by both the classic and modern incarnations of Pac-Man’s iconic arcade games, promising nostalgic visuals and innovative gameplay to delight players.

This extensive crossover expansion will be made available to players as part of the Season Pass in early 2026. To build anticipation, SEGA will conduct an open network test for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, taking place from August 29 to September 1, 2025.

This open beta will provide fans with an early opportunity to experience new characters and tracks, with player feedback helping the development team refine the game ahead of its official launch.

The global release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is scheduled for September 25, 2025, followed immediately by the launch of Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac on September 26, 2025. In addition to this, SEGA has announced a special Sonic the Hedgehog downloadable content (DLC) pack exclusively for Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac.

Arriving in late 2025, this DLC will allow players to experience new adventures and interactions between two of gaming’s most beloved characters, expanding the collaborative spirit celebrated in these releases. A SEGA spokesperson stated that the inclusion of Pac-Man and the rival Ghosts in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds reflects the company’s commitment to honoring the legacy of iconic arcade titles while continuously innovating gameplay experiences.

The collaborative spirit extends to the creation of new tracks and DLC content, aimed at delivering fresh excitement to long-time fans and newcomers alike.
