SEGA Unveils Top Picked Characters in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Closed Network Test for Nintendo Switch
Since announcing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, anticipation has accelerated for SEGA’s newest entry in the high-speed racing series.
As the game prepares for its launch on Nintendo Switch and additional platforms, SEGA continues to share insights from its recent closed network test, giving fans a clearer look at both gameplay and player preferences.
Sonic Races to the Top, Followed by Shadow and Cream
SEGA released new data highlighting the most popular character selections from the closed network test.
True to legacy, Sonic the Hedgehog led the pack as the most-chosen racer, affirming his perennial status as the series’ mascot and fan favorite.
Trailing Sonic, Shadow the Hedgehog emerged as the second most selected character.
Shadow’s continued popularity follows his recent year-long celebration, cementing his appeal among both new and returning players.
Rounding out the top three, Cream the Rabbit—accompanied by her loyal Chao companion, Cheese—secured a strong showing as a beloved choice within the Sonic community.
Expansive Roster Builds on Fan Favorites
Beyond these top picks, SEGA confirmed that other racers available during the network test included Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Omega, Eggman, and Zazz.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will feature the largest character lineup in the franchise’s history, with a total of 23 racers available at launch.
SEGA has also hinted at future additions, mentioning new slots for additional racers and teasing characters from other beloved SEGA universes joining the starting grid.
