Debuting via free updates are Joker from Persona 5, Vocaloid star Hatsune Miku, and Ichiban Kasuga from the popular Like A Dragon series.
In a significant addition, the previously hinted Minecraft collaboration has been confirmed—Steve and Alex from Minecraft will be available through a paid Season Pass, which will also introduce more crossover content post-launch.
Pre-orders for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will come with a unique bonus.
Players who pre-purchase the game will unlock the Sonic the Werehog character from Sonic Unleashed, complete with an exclusive vehicle and decal, adding extra appeal for longtime series fans.
SEGA has detailed two major special editions for collectors and enthusiasts.
The Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $79.99 USD for Nintendo Switch platforms and $89.99 USD for PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC, includes a Season Pass and allows three-day early access to the game on September 22, 2025.
However, early access is not available on any Nintendo Switch version, including the Switch 2.
In addition, Digital Deluxe Edition buyers will receive Season Pass content and exclusive Sonic Prime racers such as Knuckles the Dread, Rusty Rose, and Tails Nine.
For those seeking physical collectibles, Limited Run Games is producing a high-end Collector’s Edition for $249.99 USD (console) and $199.99 USD (PC).
This physical package boasts an array of premium items, including a Sonic and Shadow Racing Statue, a SteelBook case, a hardcover art book, a two-disc official soundtrack, a tie-in comic from IDW with exclusive artwork, various collectibles (such as a King Boom Boo keychain and Sonic rear-view mirror dangler), foil trading cards, and a chrome car emblem inspired by the game.
