Persona 5’s Joker Joins Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – DLC Release Date and Event Details Revealed

SEGA has officially announced the much-anticipated release date for the Persona 5 Joker DLC for its popular racing title, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, available on Nintendo Switch and other major platforms.

This collaborative downloadable content arrives on October 22, 2025, and introduces the iconic Persona 5 protagonist, Joker, as a new playable racer, adding significant excitement for fans of both franchises. The Persona 5 Joker DLC goes beyond just adding a new character.

Players will have the opportunity to compete on a freshly designed racetrack inspired by Persona 5’s signature style, as well as pilot a specially themed kart exclusive to the DLC.

The expansion marks a notable point in SEGA and Atlus’ ongoing partnership to bring beloved characters across their distinguished portfolio to wider audiences.

To further celebrate Joker’s debut, SEGA is launching the "Joker Festival," a special in-game event that runs from Thursday, October 23 at 8:00 PM ET to Sunday, October 26 at 7:59 PM ET.

During this event, players can participate in themed races and challenges, adding a festive competitive edge to the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds experience.

Notably, the developers confirmed that access to the Joker Festival event will not require purchase of the Persona 5 Joker DLC, mirroring inclusive practices seen in previous special events such as the Minecraft Festival.

However, the "World Match" feature will be temporarily disabled for the duration of the festival, as clarified via the game’s official social media announcement. A representative tweet from the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds team stated: "Joker arrives on Wednesday, October 22! Get ready for exciting, action-packed races throughout the Joker Festival, running Thursday, October 23 through Sunday, October 26.

Please note World Match will be unavailable during the Festival." Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, developed by SEGA in partnership with Atlus, has continued to expand its content offerings since its launch, consistently adding new characters, tracks, and in-game experiences via free updates and premium DLC.
