Sega has officially announced that Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, the highly anticipated action game developed by Lizardcube, will feature a soundtrack composed by acclaimed musicians Tee Lopes and Yuzo Koshiro.
This marks an exciting collaboration between two celebrated composers, each bringing a distinct legacy to the music of one of Sega's most recognizable franchises.
Scheduled for release on August 29, 2024, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will be available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Tee Lopes, best known for his work on Sonic Mania, Sonic Superstars, and Sonic Dream Team, will serve as the main composer for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance.
Lopes expressed his excitement about the project on social media, sharing that leading the soundtrack for a game series he admired in his youth is a dream fulfilled.
He also thanked the development team at Lizardcube, Yuzo Koshiro for joining the project, Sega, and the worldwide fan community for their support.
Accompanying Lopes on the soundtrack is Yuzo Koshiro, a legendary figure in gaming music renowned for his iconic work on Streets of Rage and previous Shinobi titles.
Koshiro's association with the Shinobi series dates back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, when he composed the memorable music for Revenge of Shinobi on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, as well as tracks for Shinobi and Shinobi II: The Silent Fury on Game Gear.
Koshiro's return to the franchise is a notable highlight, reaffirming Sega's commitment to honoring its musical roots while delivering a fresh experience for modern audiences.
Lopes' portfolio extends beyond Sega projects, having contributed to soundtracks for acclaimed games such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Penny's Big Breakaway, and the Streets of Rage 4: Mr.
X Nightmare DLC.
This broad experience positions Lopes to deliver an energetic and memorable score for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, further enhanced by Koshiro's signature style.
Sega and Lizardcube's decision to enlist these two talents underscores the importance of audio in delivering an authentic and thrilling Shinobi experience.
Fans can look forward to an original soundtrack that pays homage to the series' origins while introducing new themes for a modern generation.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is set to launch globally on August 29, 2024.
