Both Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey and Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town originally debuted on Nintendo Switch and will be re-released for Nintendo Switch 2 with technical and convenience improvements.
According to the announcement, the Nintendo Switch 2 editions will run at 60 frames per second and deliver higher resolution visuals compared with the original Nintendo Switch releases.
The new builds will add optional mouse controls, selectable text and audio languages, and a save-anywhere feature.
The company also stated that owners of the existing Nintendo Switch editions will receive a planned discount when upgrading to the Switch 2 versions.
Clear River Games will distribute a Double Pack containing both titles on a single full-game cartridge for Nintendo Switch 2.
Physical copies of the Double Pack will include a reversible cover and an illustrated booklet.
The distribution plan makes a boxed option available alongside digital availability via the eShop for the new platform.
Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation is set in a rural town in Assou, Kumamoto, and follows Shinnosuke and the Nohara family as they explore summer activities such as fishing, bug catching, growing vegetables, and completing community tasks.
The game emphasizes exploration and collection mechanics, including a picture diary feature, insect and fish encyclopedias, and social mini-games such as Dinosaur Showdown and a child journalist subplot.
Shiro and the Coal Town relocates the Nohara family to Akita Prefecture and introduces Coal Town, a locale inspired by Showa-era working communities.
The title blends rural life gameplay with new activities including trolly racing, invention crafting with a local inventor, diner menu creation, and traditional foraging and farming systems.
Both games share the series hallmark of lighthearted, family-focused adventures centered on Shinnosuke and the Nohara clan.
With a targeted launch on March 4, 2027, the upgraded editions arrive as Nintendo prepares and expands the Nintendo Switch 2 catalog.
Consumers interested in the physical Double Pack should note Clear River Games will be the distributor for boxed editions, while digital purchases and any platform-specific information will be available in the eShop and official Nintendo communications ahead of release.
