Shenmue 3 Enhanced on Nintendo Switch 2 Targets 1080p and 60fps, ININ Games Confirms

ININ Games has provided early technical targets for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Shenmue 3 Enhanced, confirming a focus on 1080p resolution and a 60 frames-per-second experience as development continues.

The publisher spoke to Nintendo Life about the Switch 2 port while emphasizing that work is still ongoing and final specifications have yet to be locked.

Shenmue 3, developed by Ys Net and created by veteran designer Yu Suzuki, originally launched in 2019.

The Enhanced edition aims to bring graphical polish and multiple gameplay improvements to console and PC platforms.

ININ Games, known for publishing ports and re-releases, is overseeing the Switch 2 deliverable and shared specific performance targets in the Nintendo Life interview.

According to ININ Games, 1080p is currently the most realistic resolution target for Shenmue 3 Enhanced on Nintendo Switch 2.

On frame rate, the company explained that while a variable 60–120fps mode could technically be considered, the team is prioritizing a stable 60fps target and believes a locked 60fps is the most practical outcome for the current build.

ININ also noted that the game’s resolution has already been configured to 1080p in the current development environment and that different frame-rate options remain achievable if needed.

Beyond performance, ININ reiterated that the Enhanced edition introduces a range of gameplay and quality-of-life changes.

Confirmed enhancements include optional stamina system adjustments, guaranteed health restoration before fights, reduced monetary barriers to smooth progression, cutscene and conversation skip options, and an expanded timing window for quick-time events.

These revisions are presented as part of the package intended to make Shenmue 3 Enhanced the definitive edition for newcomers and returning players alike.

No release date for the Switch 2 version has been announced.

ININ Games and Nintendo Life both indicate development is continuing, and the publisher said it will share the release date once it is finalized.

Nintendo Life originally published the interview details, and a community tipster known as Greatsong1 flagged the coverage.

As details evolve, industry observers will be watching how the Switch 2 hardware handles the Enhanced edition and whether ININ can deliver the promised 1080p presentation with a locked 60fps experience.

For now, the publisher’s remarks give the clearest picture yet of Shenmue 3 Enhanced’s technical ambitions on Nintendo’s next-generation handheld-console hybrid.
