Rouge, a longtime favorite in the Sonic franchise known for her cunning and agility, will be racing in her aptly named vehicle, the Lip Spyder.

The kart features a luxurious design that aligns with Rouge’s distinctive flair.

Complementing the reveal, Zavok—leader of the Deadly Six and a formidable antagonist within the Sonic universe—will join the roster in his beast-inspired kart, Road Dragoon, characterized by its aggressive look and powerful presence on the track. A spokesperson for SEGA emphasized the company’s focus on variety and fan service, explaining that incorporating characters like Rouge and Zavok ensures that players experience diverse gameplay and personality-driven racing dynamics.

By extending the lineup with well-known figures from across the Sonic series, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds aims to capture both newcomers and long-standing fans alike.

SEGA’s track record with the franchise has contributed to robust sales across previous platforms, including the Nintendo eShop and previous Nintendo Direct highlights.

This newest installment is positioned to continue the momentum as it launches first on Nintendo Switch, one of the platform’s most popular categories for competitive and family-friendly games.

The company also confirmed that an enhanced edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be made available for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date, further solidifying SEGA’s alignment with Nintendo’s evolving hardware roadmap.

This strategy ensures that the title will reach an even broader audience when the next-generation console becomes available. With a release slated for September 25 on Nintendo Switch, fans can expect more character reveals and features as launch day approaches.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is set to deliver a dynamic and feature-rich racing experience, solidifying SEGA’s legacy within the Nintendo Switch library while laying the groundwork for future expansion on next-generation platforms.
