Developer Sting has announced a global digital launch date for Viractal: Will You Trust Your Party?, the studio's upcoming board game-style RPG.
The title will arrive on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on 1 October 2026.
The game blends tabletop presentation with card-driven combat, dice mechanics, procedurally generated maps and online multiplayer features.
Gameplay and design
Viractal places players in the miniature, mysterious world of Viractalia.
The game frames each session as a living board game: players build decks, roll dice and move across sandbox fields that change every playthrough.
Sting says the combination of procedurally generated maps and randomized enemy and event placements is intended to keep each run fresh, delivering a heightened level of replayability.
The studio described early scenario setup as a cinematic opening: players awaken in a dimly lit room with a lone board game before them, and as the boundary between reality and the game's fantasy blurs, the heroes’ adventure begins.
That setup leads into freeform exploration of sandbox fields where a single roll of the dice can alter the course of a run.
Card battles, bosses and multiplayer
Combat mixes collectible cards and tactical positioning.
Players can amass a wide variety of cards to construct custom decks and experiment with synergies.
Powerful stage bosses are a regular challenge, and Sting notes players can engage bosses before they fully awaken to attempt a swift victory.
Viractal supports online multiplayer with voice chat, allowing cooperative play and in-session communication.
The developer also highlights a social deception mechanic called “Devil's Whisper,” a system that can introduce hidden motives and secret information into multiplayer sessions and affect group dynamics.
