Resident Evil Requiem, scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside other platforms.
The title was introduced with an atmospheric trailer during the Nintendo Direct, confirming months of speculation and rumors.
Capcom’s commitment to bringing one of its flagship franchises to the new Nintendo console highlights the growing partnership between the developer and Nintendo as the Switch 2 era begins.
This ninth installment in the Resident Evil series, Requiem, aims to elevate the franchise’s survival horror roots.
Players will once again explore a devastated Raccoon City, facing classic series elements such as strategic combat, challenging investigations, intricate puzzles, and intensive resource management.
Requiem introduces a new antagonist, Grace Ashcroft, and offers players the option to switch seamlessly between first and third-person perspectives, a feature that has been highly anticipated by fans.

In addition to Requiem, Capcom also confirmed that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village will receive native versions for Nintendo Switch 2, with all three titles set for simultaneous release on February 27, 2026.
This is notable, as previous entries on Nintendo Switch were only available as cloud versions, which received mixed feedback from the community.
With the Switch 2’s enhanced hardware, fans will now be able to experience these landmark titles natively on a Nintendo console for the first time.
The arrival of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village further expands the series’ presence on Nintendo platforms, giving players access to the franchise’s modern era with improved performance and full-feature access.
