Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Minecraft Characters in New Season Pass DLC for Nintendo Switch

Sega has expanded the universe of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with its latest downloadable content, introducing beloved Minecraft characters to the fast-paced arcade racer.

The new paid Minecraft pack, released this week on October 8, 2025, is the first addition to the game's Season Pass and is now available for players on Nintendo Switch and other supported platforms. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which launched for the Nintendo Switch at the end of September 2025, has quickly garnered attention for its dynamic lineup and crossover events.

Building on this momentum, Sega confirmed the Season Pass's premier DLC pack featuring the iconic Steve, Alex, and Creeper from Minecraft.

Alongside these new playable characters, players can race through a specially designed Minecraft-themed track, enhancing the game's already diverse environment roster. In an official announcement, Sega shared, "The Minecraft pack arrives as our inaugural Season Pass offering, bringing fan-favorite characters and a unique new track.

This content is accessible through the Season Pass, the Digital Deluxe Edition, or as a standalone purchase." The announcement coincided with the launch of a dedicated trailer, highlighting the new gameplay additions, and a celebratory livestream on the Sonic YouTube channel, inviting fans to experience the crossover first-hand. To mark the occasion, Sega has also launched a free in-game event, the Minecraft Festival, which runs from October 9 to October 12, 2025.
