Splatoon 3, Nintendo's latest entry in its popular ink-splatting series, is gearing up for its annual Splatoween Splatfest—an exciting in-game event that brings together fans of all things spooky.
Available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, Splatoon 3 has continued building on its successful formula since its release, introducing new features like three-way Splatfest matches and expanded customization options.
This October, Nintendo is celebrating Splatoween with exclusive rewards for Nintendo Switch Online members, adding another layer of excitement to one of the most anticipated gaming festivities of the season.
Splatoween Splatfest is scheduled to run from Friday, October 24 at 6 p.m.
PT to Sunday, October 26 at 6 p.m.
PT.
During this period, paid Nintendo Switch Online members who play Splatoon 3 can earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points along with themed icon elements featuring spooky motifs.
These digital rewards are designed to help players create a 'scary-fresh' look for their in-game user profile.
Nintendo has stated that qualifying participants will automatically receive these exclusive icon elements after the event, between October 30 and November 13, provided their Nintendo Switch Online membership remains active throughout the distribution window.
A Splatfest is a major competitive event in the Splatoon series, where players choose one of three sides themed around a special question or concept—in this case, celebrating the Halloween spirit.
Once players pledge allegiance to one of the teams, they engage in Turf War matches, aiming to cover as much ground as possible with their team's ink.
The greater the number of matches a side wins, the higher its chance of securing victory in the overall Splatfest.
Splatoon 3 builds on its predecessors by featuring Tricolor Turf War battles, an innovative 4v2v2 format that raises the stakes and variety for participants.
Splatfest events have become a staple in the Splatoon community, regularly drawing large audiences and fostering spirited competition among Inklings and Octolings worldwide.
The inclusion of exclusive rewards, like Platinum Points and unique icon elements, provides additional incentive for Nintendo Switch Online members to get involved.
Eligibility for these rewards requires a paid, active Nintendo Switch Online subscription and a linked Nintendo Account during the reward period.
Nintendo Switch Online memberships are sold separately and automatically renew at the current rate; availability varies by country, and an internet connection is necessary for online gameplay.
For more information about tournament rules, participation, and My Nintendo Platinum Points redemption, players are encouraged to review the official Nintendo terms and website.
