Rockstar Games has officially announced a major free upgrade for Red Dead Redemption on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, reaffirming its commitment to bringing cutting-edge experiences to players across platforms.

Existing owners of Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or those with the digital backward compatible version on Xbox One, will have the opportunity to upgrade digitally for free.

For those continuing their adventures on PlayStation, PS4 save data will transfer to the PS5 version, ensuring a seamless experience.

Similarly, Switch 2 players can pick up exactly where they left off, as save data from the original Nintendo Switch is fully compatible on the new console. The Switch 2 enhancement brings Red Dead Redemption in line with its versions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, ensuring cross-platform parity for graphical and technical performance.
