Sjgam, a company recognized for its retro gaming hardware, has officially unveiled the M20 Pro—its latest handheld emulator device.
While several companies have entered the burgeoning emulator handheld market, the M20 Pro has gained immediate attention due to its striking similarity to the Nintendo Switch, both in form factor and functionality.
According to the official Sjgam website, the M20 Pro features a seven-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.
It runs the Linux-based EmuELEC 4.3 operating system, enabling compatibility with more than 30 emulation platforms.
The device is powered by a Rockchip RK3566 processor and Mali-G52 GPU, a common configuration in budget handheld emulators.
Notably, this hardware combination is designed to offer a balance between affordability and versatility, although performance may be limited with more demanding platforms such as PlayStation Portable (PSP) or Nintendo 64 (N64), as reported by Notebookcheck.
One standout feature is the inclusion of a dock, which allows users to connect the M20 Pro to a TV—mimicking the core hybrid functionality that made the Nintendo Switch popular.
Additional design cues, such as detachable controllers with integrated speakers and a classic D-pad, further the resemblance.
Sjgam has even introduced companion accessories, including light guns and additional gamepads styled in a way reminiscent of other major console brands.
The M20 Pro is currently available for purchase through Alibaba, highlighting Sjgam’s focus on reaching a global audience of retro gaming enthusiasts.
Despite the limitations noted in terms of high-end emulator support, the device’s visual aesthetic and modular approach have drawn widespread commentary across gaming communities.
The M20 Pro follows a line of Sjgam consoles that borrow elements from iconic Nintendo hardware, including previous models like the M21, with its Game Boy-inspired form, and the M17, which clearly channels the Nintendo Switch Lite’s design philosophy.
The timing of the M20 Pro's announcement, coming soon after the official reveal of the next-generation Nintendo Switch—often referred to as the Switch 2—has amplified discussion about hardware inspiration and intellectual property.
As the gaming hardware landscape continues to evolve, companies such as Sjgam are leveraging classic design language to attract nostalgic players and budget-conscious consumers alike.
What remains clear is that the appeal of Nintendo’s hardware design endures across generations, consistently influencing new entrants in the emulator and retro gaming market.
Gamers interested in the M20 Pro can find additional technical details and ordering information via the manufacturer or major online retailers.
