Something Classic Games, renowned for their work on the 2017 RPG hit Shadows of Adam, are set to release their next big project, Quartet (2025), on multiple platforms including Steam, GoG, Epic Store, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation.
The title draws inspiration from classic turn-based RPGs, weaving together a rich narrative with modern indie sensibilities that fans of the genre have come to expect.
Quartet (2025) is not a remake of the 1986 Sega arcade title but features an original story and gameplay, sharing only the name with its historical predecessor.
Quartet was developed after a successful Kickstarter campaign, where it garnered $54,203 in backing from fans eager for another title from Something Classic Games.
Building on the foundations laid by Shadows of Adam, the team aims to capture both nostalgia for golden-era RPGs and leverage contemporary game design.
According to the developer, players will have the opportunity to control eight unique characters, each starring in their own intertwining stories that converge into one grand adventure.
The game transports players to intricately crafted locales, from the steampunk-influenced city of Leornia to the turbulent skies above the Auslen Empire.
The journey is populated with a memorable roster, including an aloof mage, a former soldier, a witty chef, a conflicted shop clerk, a sentient aquatic creature, an accomplished doctor, a magical law enforcer, and an age-old golem.
As players progress, they’ll equip their team with powerful gear and uncover an ancient conspiracy that shaped the very fabric of their world.
Quartet (2025) will launch on Steam, GoG, and Epic Store on August 26th, 2025.
A playable demo is currently featured as part of Steam Next Fest, allowing PC gamers to experience the opening segments before release.
Console fans can look forward to Quartet’s arrival on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation in late 2025, expanding its reach to RPG enthusiasts across all major platforms.
With a proven track record established by Shadows of Adam and a successfully funded community campaign, Something Classic Games is poised to deliver a memorable RPG experience.
Be sure to wishlist Quartet on your favorite digital store and keep an eye out for further updates as the release approaches.
