Captain Majima Joins Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds — Free DLC, Festival Rewards, and Switch 2 Release Details

SEGA has added Goro “Captain” Majima to the roster of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as free downloadable content, accompanied by a limited-time in-game festival.

The Majima crossover character — drawn from Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii — arrived in late April 2026 and brings new cosmetics and a themed vehicle to the kart-style racer.

The company confirmed Goro Majima (listed in-game as Captain Majima) became available as a free playable racer on 29 April 2026.

Beginning 30 April 2026, SEGA opened a timed Captain Majima Festival that lets players earn points to unlock collaboration-themed titles, decals, gadgets and other rewards.

SEGA also flagged special “Point Up Chance” windows during the event to accelerate reward progress.

In this update, players receive: the Captain Majima playable character, his signature vehicle the Goromaru, and a collection of special emotes and voice sounds tied to the collaboration.

SEGA framed the content rollout as part of the game’s ongoing character drops; earlier in April the Angry Birds representative Red was released as free DLC, and SEGA has scheduled Puyo Puyo’s Arle to join the roster in May 2026.

SEGA’s patch notes and event listing make clear the timeline and contents: Majima is free to all players, the festival began on 30 April 2026, and the update includes decals, gadgets and other unlockable items tied to festival point rewards.

These entries are available to players on supported platforms, with special attention from the Switch audience after the game’s recent Switch 2 releases.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launched digitally on Switch 2 in December 2025 and later saw a physical Switch 2 release in March 2026.

SEGA’s ongoing crossovers and regular character updates aim to sustain engagement across the game’s platforms and eShop marketplace.

For players tracking in-game calendars, the Captain Majima Festival presents a short window to claim themed rewards, while the free Majima racer and Goromaru vehicle remain additions to the permanent character roster.

SEGA’s official channels and the in-game event page list full details and schedules for festival point-earning opportunities and subsequent character arrivals.
