Pokémon TCG Pocket, the digital collectible card game that has captivated Pokémon fans worldwide, is making significant improvements to its core trading experience.
Developed by Creatures Inc.
in partnership with The Pokémon Company and available on both iOS and Android, Pokémon TCG Pocket continues to innovate in the competitive digital card game market.
The game’s latest update introduces a major overhaul to its trade system, promising a smoother and more rewarding experience for players seeking to expand their card collections on Nintendo-supported mobile platforms.
The highlight of the upcoming update is the introduction of the wishlist feature.
With this addition, Pokémon TCG Pocket allows players to select up to twenty cards they are interested in trading for.
From these, users can showcase up to three desired cards directly on their profile, making it easier for other trainers browsing their collection to know which cards they are actively seeking.
This enhancement is designed to streamline card exchanges and foster community engagement among dedicated TCG Pocket players.
On the resource management side, the update removes the need for trade tokens and card consumption during trades.
Instead, the new system requires Shinedust—a special in-game currency—for trading cards of higher rarities, specifically those ranked as ◆◆◆, ◆◆◆◆, and ★.
Additionally, to reward card collecting efforts, players will now earn twice the amount of Shinedust when acquiring a duplicate card already registered in their card dex.
This adjustment makes collecting and trading a more strategic and gratifying endeavor.
As part of the transition, trade tokens will no longer be used after the update goes live.
To accommodate existing users, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers players the option to exchange surplus trade tokens for either Shinedust or pack hourglasses.
It should be noted that the conversion to pack hourglasses is capped at sixty instances per account, while Shinedust exchanges remain unlimited, ensuring that no value is lost in the switch to the new trade economy.
To facilitate the changes, trading will be temporarily disabled starting from 11:00 p.m.
PST on July 24 until 10:59 p.m.
PST on July 29.
Importantly, players will not be able to trade cards for trade tokens after 6:00 p.m.
PST on July 29, immediately prior to the rollout of the revamped trade system.
This comprehensive update underlines Pokémon TCG Pocket’s commitment to enhancing player interaction and keeping the in-game economy balanced and engaging.
As the digital card game continues to attract a thriving community, these improvements are set to further solidify its position as a leading title in the mobile TCG genre and a standout offering on Nintendo’s supported platforms.
