The Pokémon Company has kicked off a limited-time in-game event for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on Nintendo Switch that spotlights the Big Blade Pokémon Kingambit.

Officially announced via the company’s Japanese Twitter account on August 28, 2026, the promotion runs through September 4, 2026, and is available to players of both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and the paid DLC bundle The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

Event details are straightforward and aimed at trainers hunting rare marks and high-level raid encounters.

The event includes a Mightiest Mark Tera Raid featuring a Dark-type Kingambit, giving players an opportunity to face a powerful raid boss.

In addition, the event activates Mass Outbreaks for the Kingambit evolutionary line—Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit—each with an increased chance of appearing carrying the Charismatic mark.

Translating the official announcement into journalistic language, The Pokémon Company informed players that the special Mass Outbreaks make it easier than usual to encounter Pokémon that carry the Charismatic mark, and that a particularly strong Kingambit will appear in a Mightiest Mark Tera Raid during the event window.

The tweet specified the event end time as September 4, 2026, at 08:59 JST.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo, launched on Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, sold separately via the Nintendo eShop, is the series’ narrative expansion for those seeking additional content.

The current Kingambit-focused event is playable on Nintendo Switch consoles running Scarlet and Violet and/or the Area Zero expansions.

Trainers interested in the event should ensure their game is updated and check in-game news for access to the Mightiest Mark Tera Raid and Mass Outbreaks.

The official announcement came from The Pokémon Company’s Japanese Twitter account (@Pokemon_cojp) on August 28, 2026.
