Description

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the global Pokémon phenomenon, The Pokémon Company has announced the launch of a limited time pop-up shop inside London’s prestigious Natural History Museum.

This exclusive retail event will operate for two months, from January 26th to March 22nd, 2026, giving fans a unique opportunity to celebrate Pokémon history in a landmark real-world setting.

Entry to the Pokémon pop-up shop will be free, but visitors must secure a ticket in advance.

Registration for tickets to opening day will begin October 1st, 2025, exclusively through the official Natural History Museum website.

This approach aims to streamline visitor flow and give more fans a fair chance to experience the event. The pop-up store will offer a selection of exclusive Pokémon-themed merchandise, including clothing, accessories, and plush toys designed specifically for the event.

Notably, Pokémon trading cards will not be available for sale at this location.

For those unable to attend in person, select items from the collection will be offered for purchase online, though specifics regarding which products will be available digitally have yet to be outlined by The Pokémon Company or the Natural History Museum. All proceeds collected from the pop-up store will directly support the Natural History Museum’s charitable initiatives, which focus on research and finding solutions for urgent planetary challenges.

This partnership not only celebrates three decades of Pokémon's legacy, but also contributes to a meaningful cause that benefits the wider community and scientific progress. Adam Farrar, director of commercial and visitor experience at the National History Museum, commented on the partnership, expressing that both Pokémon and the museum are united by their deep appreciation for the wonders of the natural world, its evolution, and its diversity.

Farrar shared that he hopes the collaboration inspires both joy and curiosity about the creatures found in the Pokémon universe as well as those residing on Earth. Fans hoping to secure the sought-after merchandise are encouraged to plan ahead.

The Pokémon Company’s previous collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in 2023 saw all merchandise sell out within a single day, including online offerings, which led to public apologies due to the unprecedented demand.

Both The Pokémon Company and the Natural History Museum are taking extra precautions to provide a smoother experience for this special London event, aiming to better accommodate all attendees and prevent a recurrence of past issues. With Pokémon’s 30th anniversary set to be a major milestone in 2026, this exclusive pop-up shop promises to be a highlight for fans and collectors alike.
