Wish Upon A Jirachi Event Live in Pokémon Pokopia on Nintendo Switch 2 — June 23–July 8, 2026

The Pokémon Company has announced the Wish Upon A Jirachi event for Pokémon Pokopia, the Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive life-sim co-developed by Game Freak and Omega Force.

Pokémon Pokopia, which is available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide, centers on a Ditto that adopts a human form and builds a community of Pokémon through resource gathering, crafting, and social gameplay.

Event details and how to participate

The Wish Upon A Jirachi event runs from Tuesday, 23 June to Wednesday, 8 July 2026.

The Pokémon Company confirmed that players must speak directly to Jirachi to receive a recipe for Wish Notes.

After that initial interaction, players can fulfill requests from other Pokémon to convert Wish Notes into Sparkling Wish Notes.

Sparkling Wish Notes can then be exchanged with Jirachi at any Pokémon Center to obtain furniture and décor inspired by the starry sky.

The company also emphasized a key requirement: Jirachi will only visit towns that have a rebuilt Pokémon Center, so participating players need at least one upgraded Pokémon Center in their town before the event visit can occur.

Gameplay context and developer credits

Pokémon Pokopia lets players control a Ditto protagonist who learns moves from befriended Pokémon—examples cited by developers include Bulbasaur’s Leafage, which can grow greenery, and Squirtle’s Water Gun, which can revive dried-up plants.

Players gather materials, craft furniture, cultivate vegetables, and build homes to attract and accommodate a range of Pokémon.

Over time, towns grow and can be visited by both NPC Pokémon and other players.

The title features a day–night cycle tied to real-world time, dynamic weather, and distinct in-game locations with unique characteristics.

Distribution and additional content

Pokémon Pokopia is sold at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2.

The game’s post-launch roadmap includes an Expansion Pass, and an official Expansion Pass trailer has been released to promote upcoming content.

Game Freak and Omega Force are credited as co-developers for the project.

This event provides a seasonal, cosmetic-driven incentive for players already invested in town development and collectibles within Pokémon Pokopia.

For step-by-step participation, ensure your town has a rebuilt Pokémon Center, speak to Jirachi between 23 June and 8 July 2026 to obtain the Wish Notes recipe, and begin turning those notes into Sparkling Wish Notes for starry décor rewards.
