The Pokemon Company has officially revealed comprehensive details for Season 2 of Ranked Battles in Pokemon Legends Z-A, set to launch on Nintendo Switch.
Following the conclusion of Season 1, the next competitive season begins November 6, 2025, introducing fresh incentives and important updates for the player community.
Pokemon Legends Z-A, developed and published by The Pokemon Company, has maintained a strong presence on the Nintendo Switch eShop since its release.
The game's competitive Ranked Battle system is a major driver of player engagement, drawing trainers from around the world to compete for exclusive in-game rewards and recognition.
Season 2 will offer participants exclusive access to Mega Stones, powerful items used to trigger the Mega Evolution of compatible Pokémon during battles.
Notably, this season marks the return of the Greninja Mega Stone, known as Greninjite, for players who may have missed the opportunity to obtain it in the previous season.
In addition, players will have the first chance to acquire Delphoxite, the Mega Stone for Delphox, by achieving specific in-game ranks:
- Greninjite is awarded at Rank Y
- Delphoxite is awarded at Rank S
According to an official statement from The Pokemon Company, players who reach Rank E or higher will also be granted Dream Balls as a bonus reward at the end of the season.
This incentive aims to encourage competitive participation across a wider spectrum of the player base, providing meaningful rewards beyond just the top-ranking competitors.
Another significant update for Season 2 is the change to eligible legendary Pokémon.
Trainers will now be able to use both Xerneas and Yveltal in Ranked Battles, two popular legendary Pokémon previously unavailable in this format.
However, Zygarde remains restricted and cannot be used in Season 2 battles, according to the official ruleset.
The Pokemon Company continues to foster a healthy and dynamic competitive environment through regular updates and clearly communicated season structures.
With the addition of new Mega Stones, distributed through rank-based achievements, and expanded legendary eligibility, Pokemon Legends Z-A remains an evolving title with robust support from its developer.
Pokemon Legends Z-A Ranked Battle Season 2 begins worldwide on November 6, 2025, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
For more updates and official notifications, players are encouraged to follow the announcements on the game’s Nintendo eShop page and The Pokemon Company’s news channels.
