The Pokémon Company International and the National Trust are launching the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trails across 14 National Trust properties in England and Wales, beginning Saturday 23 May 2026.
Designed for families visiting over the May Half Term, the trails adapt gardens and parklands into outdoor play experiences tied to the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) brand.
The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trails invite visitors to track ten Mega Evolution Pokémon across ten trail points at each site.
Each waypoint features a simple physical or creative challenge inspired by a specific Mega Evolution card — for example, challenges that encourage courage and curiosity drawing on Darkness-type Mega Gengar ex, or energetic, imaginative activities inspired by Fire-type Mega Charizard Y ex.
Young trainers receive a trail sheet to mark discoveries and can finish with a photo opportunity at a Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution backdrop.
The initial run of trails from 23 May 2026 takes place at the following National Trust places: Attingham Park (Shropshire), Belton House (Lincolnshire), Blickling Estate (Norfolk), Dyrham Park (South Gloucestershire), Hughenden (Buckinghamshire), Kingston Lacy (Dorset), Lanhydrock (Cornwall), Quarry Bank (Greater Manchester), Saltram (Devon), Sizergh (Cumbria), Speke Hall (Merseyside), Tredegar House (Newport), Wimpole Estate (Cambridgeshire), and Winkworth Arboretum (Surrey).
Rowallane Garden in County Down will join the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trails from 13 June 2026.
The trails are exclusive to National Trust places and are included with standard National Trust admission; National Trust members can participate free of charge as part of their membership benefits.
In a press release, The Pokémon Company International explained the initiatives are the first phase of a broader partnership with the National Trust.
The company said the May Half Term trails are one of several playful family experiences planned at National Trust places this year and confirmed additional Pokémon-themed Summer of Play activities will arrive at more sites from July 2026.
The Pokémon franchise spans physical card events like these trails as well as digital and console releases on platforms such as Nintendo Switch, and this collaboration represents an effort to bring brand experiences into outdoor, family-friendly settings.
