Pikmin Bloom Kicks Off Beach Resort Event in July: Surfboard Keychain Decor Pikmin Debut and More

Niantic and Nintendo are keeping the summertime spirit alive with the latest Beach Resort Event in their popular mobile title, Pikmin Bloom.

Running from July 1 at 12:00 a.m.

local time through July 31 at 11:59 p.m.

local time, this limited-time event brings vacation vibes to both new and returning players across iOS and Android platforms. The Pikmin Bloom Beach Resort Event introduces the debut of Surfboard Keychain Decor Pikmin, while also bringing back fan-favorite Ice Cream: Classic Decor Pikmin.

Both sets of unique Pikmin variants add a collectible flair and strategic advantage for event missions and in-game challenges over the course of July.

Pikmin Bloom, originally launched in 2021, is co-developed by Niantic, renowned for mobile AR titles, and Nintendo, creators of the beloved Pikmin franchise and industry icons like the Nintendo Switch. During the event, players can participate in a variety of activities to earn in-app rewards.

Clearing Event Challenge missions grants random prizes, including valuable items such as Sea Glass, special seedlings that grow into Surfboard Keychain Decor Pikmin, flower petals, and more.

Notably, when the Big Flower blooms at the heart of the stage, participants are assured a Gold Seedling along with other potential rewards. As part of the festivities, missions focusing on collecting Sea Glass have been introduced.

By completing these objectives, players unlock exclusive event-themed costumes for their customizable Mii characters and gain access to seedlings that become the returning Ice Cream: Classic Decor Pikmin.

This offers both cosmetic and gameplay incentives throughout the Beach Resort Event. Another notable feature involves battling Seafoam Mushrooms that appear across the in-game landscape.

Destroying these mushrooms yields Mystery Boxes containing Sea Glass, flower petals, and additional in-game items.

The Surfboard Keychain and Ice Cream: Classic Decor Pikmin stand out as the strongest choices for these mushroom encounters, providing a competitive edge for players engaging in these timed challenges.

On weekends, Giant Seafoam Mushrooms appear, presenting opportunities to obtain rare Mystery Boxes and up to three uses per day of the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn, encouraging cooperative play among friends. To participate fully in this summer event, players must ensure Pikmin Bloom is updated to version 115 or later to display the Surfboard Keychain Decor Pikmin correctly.

Sea Glass, a special event currency, can be obtained through challenges, flower planting, Mystery Boxes, premium event passes, and select bundle packs.

It is important to note that Sea Glass missions and utility expire with the conclusion of the event period. Pikmin Bloom is free to start, with optional in-game purchases available via the eShop and mobile storefronts.
